We are a small Episcopal Church located in Roane County
in the beautiful Tennessee valley. Though not large in
numbers, over the years our parish’s ministries to the needs
of the people of our area, both spiritual and physical, far
exceeds what might be considered normal for a congregation
of our size.

As a small congregation, we do not have many of the resources
that larger churches do such as choirs, extensive programs, or
large youth groups. Our strengths lie in other areas of life. We
are a closely knit group of men and women who strive to
support each other as we make our Christian Pilgrimange
together in this world. We seek to make love and forgiveness
permeate our parish life and our outreach to the world. We
believe that each person is a child of God, gifted by the Holy
Spirit and an important part of the Body of Christ. We are
thankful to God as the source of all we have. We strive to be
his agents in the world in all that we do.

Worship is at the heart of our life. It is from our worship of
God that all the other aspects of our Christian Life flows and is
empowered. Our Sunday worship is the service of Holy
Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion, the Lord's Supper,
the Mass, the Divine Liturgy) - which Christ commanded us to
do, "in remembrance of me" and which has been the regular
activity of Chrstian people on Sunday since the time of the early church. Our worship follows the patterns and structures which have been a part of the Church's worship from its earliest days.

We believe that education is also crucial. Without continued growth in the knowlege of who we are as human beings and who God is, we cease to be fully alive.

And service is at the heart of who Christian people are. The Church is a servant community whose model is Christ, the one who came to serve, not to be served. St. Andrew's is involved in a number of Eccumenical ministies in our county.We were one of the founders of Roane Habitat for Humanity, Roane County Cooperative Ministries, and Hands of Mercy. Our Rector is a regular participant in the Harriman and Rockwood ministerial associations. He is presently the Chair of Roane County Cooperative Ministries and one of our parishioners is Executive Director of Hands of Mercy.

As Episcopalians, we do not have any unique faith of our own. Ours is the faith of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church passed down to us from the time of the Apostles.
